Welcome to The Island!
The Island is a new site for our LGBT Community here on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Inspired by OutWilmington and the OutWilmington Community Center, especially the great work that it has accomplished in the few years it has been open, I hope this site will help the community grow and open a dialog between each other and the wonderful community we have here.
I want this site to accomplish three tasks:
- Be a resource to those Coming Out.
- Educate the community regarding LGBT persons and topics.
- Engage a dialog here on the OBX.
Profile of the week
This is the space in which the site can evaluate and
advertise for companies that are LGBT friendly. Just a
simple way of reinforcing the bond we have with people who
are friendly to our community.
